RS Puppis
is a cephoid variable (Pulsating) Star
one of the biggest
in our Galaxy.
Over 6000 Lightyears Away.
These strobing giants
help scientists study and measure
vast distances precisely.
Because RS Puppis is engulfed within
a large nebula,
the varying intensity of its glow
echoing off particles within
the nebular medium
can be measured to give
even more accurate
interstellar coordinates.
