Helix Nebula

is the closest Planetary Nebula
only 650 Lightyears away
created by a star near the end
of its evolution.
Releasing the gas from its outer layers
it slowly becomes a white dwarf
and begins to glow
with so much intensity
the surrounding gases
brightly fluoresce.
